Some medical schools are looking beyond MCAT scores and grade point averages in search of a more diverse student class.
I think this is great! I believe the primary goal of every future physician is to competently care for patients, but that will happen 99.99% of the time anyways. Getting to know diversity is refreshing and takes work, but I believe that it will pay off in the long run.

with the end of today, I officially have 24 days until I get my bachelors degree in bio/pre-med, ending with about a 3.4 gpa. Am I excited? Try ecstatic and simultaneously panicked!

I’m literally so excited to graduate in 39 days! But all my professors are trying to cram in so much work now. I have 2 essays, an exam, 2 lab reports, a poster, and various other quizzes and homework assignments due in the next 2 weeks. Time to see what I’m actually academically made of…

Recently I have seen an increase of posts all over Facebook, tumblr, and various other sites only focusing on Pro-Life arguments. Personally, I am Pro-Choice. I believe what a Woman decides to do with her body is her choice and her choice alone. I also believe this because I am going into the medical field and I think that it would be harmful to go in close-minded to the opinions of my patients....

I whole-heartedly believe in equality. I have gay friends that I would like to see enjoy marriage if they so wish to do so. Plus, going into the medical field, I feel that being so close-minded would hurt my ability to help people. I don’t care who the hell you sleep with…and neither should anyone else. Happiness should be equal.

I have applied to so many jobs in the last 24...
I forgot how much work it takes to even apply. That’s what I get for having the same job for years. I literally went through JobsinME and applied/inquired to 8 jobs, resume, references, cover letter, and all. I applied to a lab assistant job at IDEXX, a medical office Coder job, a few medical secretary and administrative assistant jobs, and a couple Home Aide jobs.
